6 DAYS FOR ME*JO'S DONE!!!

WOW!! An amazing, celebratory day today! My dear friend, Jo, completes her final radiation treatment today! HOORAY, JO! You DID IT!

And, Thank God, I have just 6 days to go! I keep praying the fatigue doesn't set in (they warn us from the beginning that it may or may not happen-everyone is different) Being the tough, old, (Did I just say OLD??? Shame on me!) ND farm girl that I am, I've been going about my business like there's no tomorrow-hauling totes up the stairs, packing, cleaning, unpacking [yes! we're in our new home!] I haven't noticed a thing other than normal wear and tear on muscles and joints; until two days ago. I attended a meeting Monday evening at 6:00 p.m., and my eyelids would not stop slamming shut! I crashed into bed about 9:00, and woke up yesterday feeling fairly refreshed. Then, yesterday, around 4:00 p.m., I had the same feeling-like an elephant sitting on me. I fell onto the love seat and closed my eyes for 3 minutes, and suddenly realized I had forgotten to take my thyroid hormone pill. I jumped up to do that, and figured as long as I was up, I may as well finish some un-packing. After that, I followed my daughter's nudging, and literally forced myself to go for a walk. (my oncology doctor in Seattle explained that many people who go through radiation experience extreme fatigue, and because of that, stop exercising, which in turn actually exacerbates the fatigue) All I could think yesterday was; "I'll bet Dr. Pratt has never experienced radiation therapy personally!" I did muster on and made it 1.55 miles! It gave me a chance to explore the area around our new home.

The end of the trail for me-due to Spring "high tide"

Needless to say, I am in "Heaven on Earth" once again. God blessed us with a beautiful place to live when we moved North from CA, and He has provided for us again. What an awesome God! We will miss a few things about our former home on the bluff; church family, private pond, hmmmmm….guess that's about it! AND….we have another "seemingly" private 21 acre 'pond', and will see our church family occasionally and on Sunday's, so, looks like total +'s to me! We are very grateful-not only for our new home-but for SO MANY people who have helped us along this entire journey, those who will be helping us move (all the furniture/heavy stuff will be moved this Saturday) and have supported us through hugs, encouraging words, and prayer from the very beginning.

I believe it's time for me to get my engine fired up and head over to my #25 radiation treatment and then  up to the old home and do more packing/cleaning. UGH….it's just not nearly as much fun packing as it is unpacking in a new place! One more thing (well, a few, actually…) We now have EXCELLENT cell and internet service! So…give us a call anytime! The internet is SO FASSST…amazing! Even with my ADDWOM, it's getting ahead of me! Miss Daisy is working her little tail off!

Wishing you a day filled with peace, sunshine and energy!
